Tuesday Tips & Tricks: Shop local
28 JunToday’s tip is to shop local for your produce! Last weekend I went to our local farmers market where I was able to find chives, onions, garlic, peppers, beets, local plants (tomatoes, peppers, several herbs) and I’m sure I’m forgetting a few. Our local farmers market is twice a week, Tuesday evenings and every Saturday morning!
Supporting local farmers is great, and it’s also pretty friendly on your wallet. I like to know where my food is coming from, and I’ve also heard that it’s great to eat local foods to help with allergies. Last week I was late in getting to the market so I heard from friends that things went quickly. Since we live in such a small town, our farmers market isn’t that big and things go fast. I’m going to get there on time this week and I’ll be sure to share what I come home with!
