Friday Finds

20 May

So today I wanted to share a website that is pretty great. I stumbled upon InspiringYou2Save one evening and found a ton of great info on her site. She shares reviews & giveaways as well as freebies, coupons and hot store deals. =)

One of her posts this week was 15 Free Summer Activities for Kids. She provides lots of cheap or free ideas how to keep your kids entertained during the summer. My favorite idea was the wet park. I think my little guy would love to splash around and keep cool this summer.

Let me know what you think and if you stop by her site, make sure to leave a comment that The Penny Wise Chick sent you!

Saturday savings

9 Apr

Todays Saturday savings are two recipes that are easy to make and very wallet friendly!

The first recipe is a pasta salad that looks oh so tasty and fairly simple too! In 30 minutes, you can prep, cook, and enjoy this meal that costs only $1.75 per serving. It uses peas which are in season right, now making this meal even more affordable. This pasta salad is definitely on my list of new recipes to try! Check out Daily Savings For All You Magazine for the recipe.

The recipe calls for bow-tie pasta, frozen peas, 2 tomatoes, 2 bell peppers and 2 stalks of celery – that’s only 5 ingredients. Easy to shop for, and you may even have all those ingredients in the house already.

The dressing sounds like it will take only minutes to assemble and voilà, delicious pasta salad!

One more from Daily Savings From All You Magazine because it just looks so tasty! I always make banana bread when I have bananas that are just a little over ripe for eating but I may have to try this banana cake instead.  “Enjoy this yummy dessert without guilt: At  238 calories and 8 grams of fat per serving, it’s light and luscious.” Yep, that sounds pretty darn good to me and at 64 cents per serving you can’t go wrong.  The recipe is just a click away!

Do you have any really cheap recipes that you enjoy? I’m always looking for new recipes to try so please leave a comment with your favorite affordable meal.
