Seventh Generation Named #1 Greenest Brand in the U.S

We’re thrilled to announce that Seventh Generation has been named the #1 greenest brand in the U.S. by the annual ImagePower Global Green Brands Survey. We last appeared on the list in 2008 at a #7 ranking. Thank you for the support that has helped us rise to the top! We’re in great company on the list:

 Seventh Generation
Whole Foods
Tom’s of Maine
Burt’s Bees
Trader Joe’s
The Walt Disney Company
S.C. Johnson
Starbucks, Microsoft (tied)

The ImagePower Global Green Brands Survey features 9,000 respondents in eight countries measuring perceptions and sentiments of green actions by industries, products, and brands. The survey is sponsored by WPP companies Cohn & Wolfe, Landor Associate, Penn Schoen Berland, and partner company Esty Environmental Partners.

The news was announced at the Sustainable Brands Conference earlier this month.

YAY Seventh Generation! I’m new to using more ecofriendly products and natural cleaners but I’ve found that I really like the 7th Generation products so far. I have purchased this cleaner as well as their Glass & Surface cleaner and both work well. I feel like they’re still picking up all the grime that my old cleaners would and they smell much less like chemicals. At first, the smell was a surprise, it smells almost like oregano to me which I definitely do not associate with cleaning. But after a few uses I’ve gotten used to the smell and much prefer it over our old products (like 409 and windex).   The hubbby still prefers our old cleaners arguing that the harsh chemical bad-for-the-environment smells make him feel like the products are doing their job better and getting things cleaner. I’m not hard set on only using these products in the future but I would like to when possible. Plus, how can you argue with a company that was just named #1 greenest brand? =) Very cool, go Seventh Generation!

Next up, I’m looking to try some of their laundry detergent for our clothes. Will post a review when I try it!
