Tuesday Tips & Tricks – one mans trash is another mans treasure

12 Jul

The expression is something like that right? 🙂 Anyways, todays tip is to check out local flea market/garage sale/yard sales in your area. The other morning as I went to water the plants in our yard, I happened to notice tons of cars going down our road and that our neighbor was having a garage sale. It couldn’t have been easier! I just walked across the street and checked out all their good stuff. Plus, since I was up so early, I checked out all the good stuff before it was picked over.

You never know what you’ll find at a yard sale and I think it’s a great way to spend a Saturday morning! I came home with just one rocking horse toy for our little guy this time but they did have a lot of really great stuff!

I’m not big into yard sales or flea markets, but once I remembered throwing away the children’s old Little Tikes car. It was so damaged by sun that I was certain it wouldn’t be fit even to take to Goodwill so I sat it at the curb. I thought maybe someone will happen along, spot it, and take it home. Guess what, that’s exactly what happened. A lady stopped by and asked if she could take it. I said, “Sure.” She was delighted and said her little boy has been wanting one, but they couldn’t afford one. My heart was deeply touched.

That’s so great! I love when you can help someone else out, and so easily too! Thanks for stopping by. I just read your post on 40 miles and counting – good luck on the fitness journey! I think since my son was born I’m in a daily challenge of eating right, staying active and getting back in shape. Hope you have a great day!

I love shopping garage sales. Why pay more than you have to for something right? Stopping by from the Work Together Wednesday Alexa Hop.
