New use for spare change!

10 Jul

This week I’ve found a new use for some of our spare change. You may remember me talking about our spare change jar in this post. Well last week I was short on cash when I was getting ready to go to the farmers market so I decided to see what I could find in our change jar. Four dollars in quarters and I was all set for the farmers market! So this week, I figured I would get myself prepared and I poured out our change jar and took just the quarters and put them in a zip lock bag. I’m going to leave this in my car as my farmers market money! All the rest of the change went back into the jar for other things in the future but a handful of quarters and I’m all set for some fresh produce!

I love the idea, but I admit I am a little jealous. The farmer’s market by my house is wonderful for fresh produce and local products but $4 would not get me much. Once in a while I can find a deal better than the grocery stores–but not often. I continue to go however because the produce is so much fresher and I am supporting local farmers.

Thanks for stopping by! I think our farmers market prices are SO low because it’s so small and local. It’s literally like 3-4 tables with farmers pulling stuff out of their trucks and it’s over in an hour. Going to your site now! Have a great day. =)

Ours is fairly small, but we still have fairly pricey items. I could at least get some blueberries though! 🙂 We’ve been putting our change (when we get some) in a chest. We like to save it up, count it out, and then buy something fun. Because things have been super tight, it’s a way for us to do something fun once in a while.
